Koinonia Impact is a Namibian non-governmental organisation (NGO) founded in 2025. It transforms agriculture in drought-prone northern Namibia through hydroponics, aeroponics and solar-powered soilless farming, while training youth and women in climate-smart agribusiness skills.
Koinonia Impact is headquartered in Okongo, Ohangwena Region, northern Namibia. The organisation operates an educational farm hub that serves as a demonstration and training centre for surrounding communities.
By 2031, Koinonia Impact aims to train 500 youth farmers, deploy 30 locally-built aeroponic towers, create more than 100 sustainable jobs, and reduce water use by up to 90% compared with traditional farming.
Soilless farming methods such as hydroponics and aeroponics use 90 to 95 percent less water than traditional agriculture. In a country where 70% of land is arid and 60% of fresh produce is imported, these systems enable year-round, climate-resilient food production directly inside communities.
